Lesson Outcomes

  • Present information clearly to an audience

  • Conduct basic research on 4IR technologies

  • Follow workplace ethics and governance

  • Collaborate with team members

  • Participate effectively in meetings

Lesson Notes

This module is less about coding and more about becoming someone companies actually want to work with (yes, that matters just as much as Python 😄).

It is broken into 5 core workplace skills:

1. Present Information to an Audience

The learner must be able to:

  • understand the audience

  • choose a relevant topic

  • structure a presentation (intro → body → conclusion)

  • use tools like PowerPoint or slides

  • adapt delivery style depending on audience reaction

Key idea:

👉 It’s not what you say — it’s how well people understand it.

2. Conduct Basic Research (4IR Skills)

The learner must:

  • research technologies like:

    • AI tools (e.g. APIs)

    • cloud platforms (Google, AWS, Microsoft)

  • explore how these tools:

    • improve efficiency

    • reduce development time

Key idea:

👉 A good developer doesn’t build everything — they use what already exists smartly.

3. Work with Ethics and Governance

The learner must:

  • understand workplace ethics

  • follow company policies

  • compare:

    • company rules vs legislation

    • code of conduct vs actual practice

Key idea:

👉 Just because you can build something doesn’t mean you should.

4. Collaborate with Team Members

The learner must:

  • work with others in projects

  • communicate clearly

  • contribute ideas

  • respect different roles

Key idea:

👉 Real AI projects are team sports, not solo missions.

5. Participate in Meetings

The learner must:

  • attend meetings

  • contribute meaningfully

  • take notes

  • follow up on actions

Key idea:

👉 Silence in meetings ≠ productivity 😅
